Today, any other housekeeping items were wrapped up and students turned in half-slips from parents.

Students then took some time to think of the top 5 Americans, in their opinions, from American History.  From there, students had to justify these people- what made them so special/important/controversial, etc.

The class then shared their findings.

Students were then issued textbooks and reminded they should bring their book to class everyday.

Finally, students had a pop quiz over the United States- countries.  Students corrected their quizzes together and were then give the remainder of the period to quiz themselves by going here.  mapquiz

Homework: Extra Credit- ream of 8 1/2 X 11 white printer paper, hand sanitizer or tissue due by 8/23

Today, students watched about 30 minutes of the PBS series “Eyes on the Prize: Fighting Back.”

The parts they watched dealt with the Little Rock Nine.

Finally, students continued working on the postcard projects they started last class.

Homework:  You will have 10 min. on Monday to wrap up postcards
